Southgate's pride as his kids keep out Brazil

England boss Gareth Southgate says that he will have 'no hesitation' in using any of the three players called up from the Under-21 squad ahead of the game with Brazil.

"By the way, there are a load of full-backs saying 'I've got f***ing Gareth Southgate's shirt', so I accept that works both ways".

"Against Japan we tested ourselves against a more mobile and skilled team, against England we tested ourselves against a team of strong and tall players, very solid", said Tite, who was hired in June 2016.

"In terms of heart, resilience and spirit it was up there with anything I have been involved in", Southgate said.

"I thought the defensive back line were phenomenal", the West Ham goalkeeper told ITV Sport.

Substitute Dominic Solanke could have won it for England at the death but his touch let him down in front of goal.

Brazil's qualification campaign was nearly flawless with only one defeat in 18 matches but maybe they are suffering the effects of playing the same kinds of teams over and over.

"Quite often we look across at each other in training and raise our eyebrows at some of the things he does". It was a really good trip for people like Jordan, Joe, Tammy [Abraham], Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] and even Dom [Solanke] coming on at the end. "This will help in preparations".

England has lost six of seven penalty shootouts since 1990 at either a World Cup or a European Championship.

The hosts spent most of the match watching the ball being pinged around, although for all Brazil's intricate patterns the visitors were disappointing in the final third of the pitch where Neymar and Jesus barely had a sight of goal.

Earlier, the AFA confirmed that Aguero "had a blackout and was taken (to hospital) so routine examinations were made only as a precaution".
